MLB PICKS APRIL 10 - ATLANTA BRAVES VS COLORADO ROCKIES PICK & ANALYSIS

April 9, 2019

MLB EXPERT PICKS - FULL ANALYSIS ATTACHED

Good Afternoon,

A majority of MLB teams have reached 10+ games (approx. 6% of the season) and we continue to compile and monitor ongoing team data. We will begin to include extended analyses and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into our systems and how we are able to identify hot and cold streaks; capitalizing accordingly. We filter data in last 7, 14, 30-day sample sizes, but monitoring recent last 7-day sample size is crucial. We want to know who is playing good and bad this week and capitalize accordingly before longer-term trends are identified and caught onto by the general public. As the season progresses and we hit the dog days of summer, our extended data sets provide daily opportunities to seek discrepant lines and find contrarian +EV odds. We will be including different types of data and visualizations (pitcher data, bullpen data, etc.) as the season progresses and we have larger, more predictive sample sizes. Welcome to our 2019 MLB Investing System:

ATLANTA BRAVES MONEYLINE: 1 UNIT (+116)

The Braves offense is red-hot right now, and the core of their lineup all have above-average personal underlying metrics. All indications early point to the Braves having a highly efficient and consistent offense this season and we will support them as underdogs for the second consecutive game. The Rockies are overvalued in this matchup based on the stellar start from German Marquez, but 13 innings pitched is still way too early to label him an ace. Max Fried has a 0.00 ERA after one impressive start versus the Cubs so pitching wasn’t over-analyzed in this matchup. The Rockies offense has been one of the worst in the MLB to start the season and their ice-cold data doesn’t even compare to the Braves right now. They are just 2-8 in their last 10 games (20%) and have lost 4 in a row. The Rockies are averaging just 3.4 runs/game and are trending backwards averaging just 3 runs/game over their last 7, with a 27th ranked .209 team batting average. They sit 29th on our TOFI ranking (Total Offensive Index) with a -13.7 efficiency. The Braves sit 15th on our TOFI with a +0.9 efficiency and are rapidly trending upwards going 6-1 (85.7%) in their last 7 games with a +20 run differential.
