MLB PICKS APRIL 19 - ST LOUIS CARDINALS VS NEW YORK METS PICK & ANALYSIS

April 19, 2019

MLB EXPERT PICKS - FULL ANALYSIS ATTACHED

NEW YORK METS MONEYLINE: 2 UNITS (+140)

Two top-10 offenses square off tonight in St. Louis and we are going to support the Mets in what is phenomenal value at +140. The Mets and Cardinals offenses have both come out blazing. The Cardinals have a proclivity for the long ball, while the Mets are more well-rounded. In watching St. Louis this season, if the long-ball dries up, their chances to win a game drastically plummet as they have been way too HR dependent. The Mets have not strayed too far outside of the top-5 on our TOFI (Total Offensive Index) rankings at all this year and currently sit 4th with a +18.1 efficiency. The Cardinals have had a hard time staying in the top-10 due to the one-dimensionalism of their offense. They currently sit 9th with a +9.5 efficiency. Over the last 2 weeks, the Mets have actually hit one more HR than the Cardinals (19:18), which provides a massive advantage for New York. The Mets currently have the 3rdranked team batting average (.276), and 3rd ranked OPS (.858). Jason Vargas’ glaring 14.21 ERA is causing bettors to take the juice and support the Cardinals, as they are one of the most popular bets tonight with up to 70-75% supporting them. This is an overreaction as he only has 6 innings of sample size. Let’s see what he has tonight and let’s not forget the recent regressions of Adam Wainwright who has not had a sub-4.00 ERA since 2016.
