MLB PICKS MAY 14 - MILWAUKEE BREWERS VS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES PICK & ANALYSIS

May 14, 2019

MLB EXPERT PICKS - FULL ANALYSIS ATTACHED

MILWAUKEE BREWERS MONEYLINE: 1 UNIT (-115)

The Phillies were the beneficiary of some great defensive plays and stole Monday's game in the later innings, but the Brewers bats were dangerous all night and we are supporting Milwaukee's offense to fuel a rebound tonight. The pitching matchup is intimidating at first glance. jared Eickhoff has been a stud this season. However, some teams just know how to win for certain pitchers and this is the case for the Brewers and Brandon Woodruff. Despite sub-par metrics, Woodruff is 5-1 (83.3%) with the Brewers giving him an average of 6.73 runs in support per game. This is +3.3 runs more than the 3.70 runs in support the Phillies have generated for Eickhoff. Woodruff gives up an abundance of hits, but manages to keep earned runs down through a high 29.7% strikeout rate and low 0.85 HR against rate. He has been progressing each start and has allowed just 3 earned runs in his last 3 starts over 16 innings. Woodruff has the potential to wheel-and-deal, and the Brewers have given him loads of support in his pursuit of Quality Starts. We like the Brewers' bats to support Woodruff once again and build off of a strong 12 hit performance on Monday night. Ryan Braun is expected to draw back into the lineup for Milwaukee and you can expect him to be the most dangerous offensive threat tonight. Braun has owned Citizen's Bank Park in his career, going 57-for-139 (.410) and ranks 1st in all-time hits in this stadium among players with at least 136 career at-bats here. The Brewers have out-scored the Phillies 54-34 in their last 7 meetings.
