MLB PICKS MAY 16 - ATLANTA BRAVES VS ST LOUIS CARDINALS PICK & ANALYSIS

May 16, 2019

MLB EXPERT PICKS - FULL ANALYSIS ATTACHED

ATLANTA BRAVES MONEYLINE: 1 UNIT (-110)

We could be seeing a plethora of runs in this game. Teheran and Wainwright both have strikingly similar sub-par metrics and there is no clear advantage on the starting mound in this matchup. Although, we are less inclined to support the 37-year-old Adam Wainwright who continues a significant career regression every season. Wainwright struggles even more on the road where he owns a 5.91 ERA and has given up 5 HR's in 4 starts.

We are also less inclined to support a massively unpredictable Cardinals offense who has put together a string of invisible performances in May. The Cardinals have broke out for double-digits twice this month, but have been largely ineffective for most of the month and have put up 2 or less runs in 7 of their 14 games. They are just 8-10 (44.4%) as the underdog this season and have a -2 unit deficit on the road. The Cardinals are just 1-4 in their last 5 games (20%) and 1-5 in their last 6 games (16.6%) on the road. Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-1 (80%) in their last 5 games, 4-1 (80%) in their last 5 games versus NL rivals and have thrived as the favorite this season going 16-11 (59.2%).
