UNC Wins The National Championship, Our Expert Team Cashes In Large

April 4, 2017

Our Expert team nailed a 10 unit bomb on the March Madness National Championship. Check out our full-page writeup and pre-game analysis sent to clients prior to the game

Good afternoon. We have had a successful March Madness tournament and we are looking to cap it off with a confident 10-unit banger. We will be heavily supporting UNC tonight.

These are two powerhouses who will likely prove to be worthy adversaries for each other. Expect another nailbiting, one-or-two-possession game. The value UNC’s experience brings, their ability to push the pace and own the glass has us believing they will eventually overcome Gonzaga.

Gonzaga has had a fairly easy route to the Finals, look for UNC to come out hard and stun the Bulldogs out of the gate. Gonzaga struggled early with South Dakota State (16 seed), allowed Northwestern (8 seed) to rally back from a 20-point deficit, and had an ugly foul-filled win over West Viriginia. (4 seed). They also beat 11th seed Xavier and 7th seed South Carolina.  UNC has no doubt had the more impressive tournament, showing tremendous poise having already beaten elite competition in  Kentucky (2), Oregon (3), Butler (4). They also had convincing wins over Arkansas (8) and Texas Southern (16).

UNC is first in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage. Gonzaga is ranked 222nd in defensive turnover percentage. Look for UNC to cause havoc on the glass and push a pace of play too rapid for Gonzaga’s slow big ben Karnowski and Collins. West Virginia was able to snag 20 offensive rebounds against Gonzaga. UNC is the best in the nation in this category and will dominate in that department in the Finals.

Justin Jackson is a beast on both sides of the ball averaging 20.2 points per game, but his underrated defensive capabilities are even more impressive. He has managed to shutdown Kentucky’s Malik Monk, Oregon’s Tyler Dorsey shot just 3 of 11 from the field vs. UNC. If he can shutdown Nigel Williams-Goss/Jordan Matthews, UNC will be victorious.  He is our favorite to win most outstanding player.

Most outstanding player has been awarded to a player from the winning team every year since 1983. 3 of the 4 favorites to win most outstanding player are from UNC (Jackson, Berry, Meeks). There have been concerns about Joel Berry’s health leading lots of media personalities and bettors  to lean Gonzaga, however, he has been grinding it out and told pre-game press he is at 85%, but we expect him to find that extra 15% for the Finals and will have a solid game.

Experience is everything: Gonzaga’s Mark Few is entering his first finals game and Gonzaga’s first in program history, UNC’s Roy Williams is entering his 100th NCAAB game, 6th national title. UNC has a core that is another year experienced after a devastating last second loss to Villanova in 2016.

UNC averages an elite 84.8 PPG and will bring another championship to UNC’s elite history.
